Our partners are a huge part of what keeps TEDxAmsterdam rolling. Each one is an expert in what they do.
Aan Zee is a service design agency, and one of our long-term partners, who joined us in 2015. They provide the digital experience of the event, including the website and app.
We caught up with founding father of Aan Zee, Hugo de Bruijne, to learn about what TEDx means to him, and why partnering with us is the right fit.
When we first became a partner in 2015, I was also fortunate to be a guest of the event that year. This was a dream come true for me, a long time TED fan.
The feeling that lasted came from Meaningful Walks, which was one of the outdoor experiences that day. Here, we walked in duos with a 'co-walker' - a complete stranger - answering the bigger questions in life.
I discussed with my co-walker the question: 'do you feel in control?' and found a great match. There was no small talk, just an instant meaningful meeting. After the event we became friends and did some projects together.
"This is what TEDxAmsterdam is to me: a meaningful experience, with the exchange of knowledge and the meeting of great, like-minded people."
Aan Zee's Strategy Director Michiel Daalmans heard TEDxAmsterdam needed a website and app. He proposed that we become a tech partner and it was a no-brainer! We are a 100% DNA match with the TEDx fabric: making things better. Improvement is also at the core of our working domain: service design. Here we optimize every step of the customer journey.
It's a good fit for us - because we're very aligned with the technology and design base of TEDx.
Absolutely! Chip Conley's talk , 'Measuring what makes life worthwhile'. He goes searching for a business model based on happiness. Through an old friendship with an employee and in the wisdom of a Buddhist king, he learns that success comes from what you count. This is how we run Aan Zee - based on the organizational model Holacracy and with the focus on happiness and 'Happy People'.
We enjoy working with the volunteers and other partners and the benefits the app provides for the team and overall user experience. The app uses the latest technology for hybrid applications, allowing rapid development and integration with an existing content management system.
TEDxAmsterdam can continuously update app content and share last-minute updates through push notifications. The viewer can engage more by asking questions during the event and vote for their favorite Award idea.
We could not agree more - the app that has been built makes for an enhanced experience for all parties involved, and we cannot wait for you to experience it too!
