The Impact Program is an opportunity to bring forth a prototype of a solution regarding a real-world problem. Offered by TEDxAmsterdam, this journey functions as a catalyst for positive change. Each year we source bold ideas with the potential to address pressing matters. We look for ideas that cover a wide range of fields— from global health to climate change to social justice to education. By training, empowering and supporting great minds we facilitate new connections, co-creations and help advance brilliant ideas into concrete next steps together with our partners and members.
The program consists of a variety of curated workshops focused on storytelling and business development, a presence at the TEDxAmsterdam events and even the chance to present on a TEDx stage
TEDxAmsterdamSalon events are often small weekly or monthly events that keeps our TEDxAmsterdam community engaged between regular TEDx events. It’s a unique kind of gathering that TEDxAmsterdam hold which allows the conversation to continue, in person.
At a TEDxAmsterdamSalon, attendees watch TED Talks, sometimes host a few speakers (though it’s not required) and have informal discussions about the talks they witnessed. Salons re-engage our community and team during the time between our main TEDx events, and spark discussion on issues of interest to our local community.
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman.
X = Independently Organized Event. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

We are a hundred percent volunteer-led organisation, all our events are not subsidised and are run on the enthusiasm of our partners, collaborators and volunteers. Each year a large group of volunteers dedicate their time and energy to set up events and build our community, acting as personal ambassadors for change and innovation.
